Growing raspberries. We have very hard clay soil will amending it with black kow and sta-green flower and vegetable work?

Hello, we have some very hard NC clay soil. My current thought is to amend about 2ft down by mixing the sta green with the clay soil. For the top 1/2" adding the black kow. Would this be a good idea?
