1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using thenooks.app ("Nooks"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Nooks is operated by Greenlyz LLC. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Nooks. You may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts — including to evade a suspension or ban — is prohibited and will result in permanent removal of all associated accounts. We use email verification, device tracking, and IP monitoring to detect duplicate accounts. Impersonating another user or creating an account in someone else's name is also prohibited.

We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication in your account settings to protect your account from unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to post content that:

• Is illegal, threatening, abusive, or harassing
• Infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
• Contains spam, malware, phishing links, or deceptive content
• Is pornographic, sexually explicit, or depicts minors in a sexual context
• Impersonates another person, organisation, or entity
• Promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or extremism
• Constitutes illegal hate speech or discrimination
• Floods a community (posting repeatedly in rapid succession)
• Scrapes, crawls, or automates access to the platform without written permission

Nook owners and moderators may remove content that violates these Terms or their community rules. Nooks staff may remove any content and take action on any account at any time for any violation.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Greenlyz LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, cache, and distribute your content as part of operating the platform. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. You are solely responsible for the content you post and its legality.

5. Communities (Nooks)

Public Nooks are free to create. Nook owners are responsible for moderating their communities in accordance with these Terms. We reserve the right to remove any Nook that violates these Terms or is used to facilitate illegal activity.

RSS bot content is sourced from third-party feeds. Nooks does not represent or endorse the accuracy of automatically imported content.

6. Marketplaces

Nook owners may enable a marketplace within their Nook. Marketplace transactions are entirely between buyers and sellers — Greenlyz LLC is not a party to any transaction and accepts no liability for items listed, sold, or exchanged. Sellers are responsible for ensuring their listings comply with all applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove any listing or disable any marketplace that violates these Terms.

7. Advertising

Some feeds display sponsored content — Nook Sponsorships, Promoted Posts, and Network Ads. These are clearly labelled. Greenlyz LLC does not endorse the products or services of advertisers. Network Ads must link to thenooks.app pages. Advertising content is subject to review and may be removed for policy violations without refund.

8. Shared Drive Links — User Responsibility and Limitation of Liability

Nook owners may link Google Drive files or folders to their Nook. These links are encrypted at rest on our servers and are only visible to verified Nook members, moderators, and owners of that specific Nook.

What Greenlyz LLC does: We store the URL you provide, encrypt it at rest, and display it only to authorized Nook members. That is the full extent of our involvement with any Google Drive content.

What Greenlyz LLC does not do and is not responsible for:

• We do not access, read, scan, moderate, or store the contents of any Google Drive file or folder you link. We store only the URL.
• We have no control over Google Drive's access permissions. If your Google Drive file is set to "Anyone with the link can view," it is accessible to anyone — including people outside your Nook — regardless of how we protect the URL on our servers.
• We are not responsible for any harm, data breach, unauthorized access, copyright infringement, defamation, or other damage arising from the contents of a Google Drive file you choose to share.
• We are not responsible for files that are accidentally shared too broadly, shared with the wrong people, or shared in violation of a third party's rights.
• We are not responsible for any action taken by a recipient of a shared file — including downloading, redistributing, editing, deleting, or misusing that file.
• We are not responsible for Google Drive service outages, file deletions by Google, changes to Google's sharing policies, or any failure of Google's platform that affects linked content.
• We are not responsible for any confidential, proprietary, or legally privileged information you choose to share via a Google Drive link. Sharing such a link on our platform does not create or extend any legal protection (such as attorney-client privilege or HIPAA protection) over that content.

Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that any Google Drive file or folder you link on Nooks is shared with the appropriate permissions, that you have the right to share it, that it does not contain content that violates these Terms, and that you understand who will have access to it. Before linking any file, review your Google Drive sharing settings to confirm the file is not publicly accessible unless you intend it to be.

By linking a Google Drive file or folder to a Nook, you represent that you have the right to share that content with the Nook's members and that doing so does not violate any law, agreement, or third-party right.

9. AI Image Moderation

Uploaded images may be scanned by automated moderation systems to detect illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Detected violations are reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law and may be referred to law enforcement.

10. Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is available to all users and is strongly recommended. When enabled, a one-time code is sent to your registered email at each login. You are responsible for maintaining access to your registered email address. Greenlyz LLC is not responsible for account lockouts resulting from loss of email access when 2FA is enabled.

11. Rate Limits

To prevent spam and protect community quality, you may not post more than one Cranny per Nook per 60 seconds. Repeated attempts to circumvent rate limits may result in account suspension.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without notice and without liability. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your content is removed from public view; residual copies may persist in backups for up to 30 days.

13. Disclaimers

Nooks is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not responsible for content posted by users. Community discussions represent the views of individual members, not Greenlyz LLC or thenooks.app. Legal content in community Nooks (including LawTubers) is for informational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Greenlyz LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of Nooks after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
